I am working with a well‑established, family‑owned healthcare manufacturer in Newmarket. They supply medical and theatre disposables to the NHS and international healthcare providers. With a strong focus on sustainability and community impact, this role offers an opportunity to make a real difference.
As the Senior Buyer reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you’ll:
Devise and deliver procurement strategies that balance cost and quality
Negotiate terms with suppliers to secure value and reliability
Oversee the full procurement lifecycle—from order to delivery
Track stock levels and manage budget controls
Run supplier audits, performance reviews, and compliance checks
Guide and support junior team members
Work closely with production, finance, and contracts teams
Occasionally visit supplier sites or attend eventsRequirements for the role:
Extensive procurement experience, including recent experience in a management position
Ideally from FMCG, manufacturing or healthcare sectors
Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills
Confident in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel
CIPS qualification or studying towards would be desired
Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and communication
