Senior Internal Auditor

Location: Guildhall, CB2 3QJ

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3+ Months

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00

Pay Rate: £ 23.70 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities

Conduct financial audits across departments to ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.

Review financial statements, records, and processes to identify risks and areas for improvement.

Prepare clear and concise audit reports with findings and recommendations.

Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.

Support the development and enhancement of internal control frameworks.

Collaborate with management and other stakeholders to resolve audit issues efficiently.

Person Specification

Must-Have Requirements

Proven experience in internal auditing, preferably within the public sector.

Strong knowledge of financial regulations, risk management, and internal controls.

Ability to analyse complex financial information and identify discrepancies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Eligibility to work in the UK.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Experience working for a local authority or government organisation.

Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).

Familiarity with audit software and financial management systems.
