Are you an experienced Roaming Site Engineer, Setting Out Engineer, or QA Engineer seeking a dynamic role with a leading regional principal contractor based in Coventry? As a Roaming Engineer, you will ensure precision and quality across multiple commercial construction sites within a 1.5-hour radius of the Coventry office. This varied role covers new build projects including schools, hospitals, colleges, universities, care homes, leisure centres, and cultural facilities. Ideal for a proactive professional skilled in setting out, quality assurance, and multi-site coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

* Execute precise setting out using total stations, GPS, and digital surveying tools for commercial new build foundations, structures, and layouts.

* Lead QA work including inspections, compliance audits, material testing, and quality control documentation across multiple sites.

* Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring adherence to specifications, CDM regulations, and building standards.

* Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, design teams, and project engineers to maintain progress and resolve technical challenges.

* Travel to construction projects in the West Midlands and surrounding regions (e.g., Rugby, Leicester, Northampton, Derby, Bristol, Poole).

* Support full project life-cycle delivery – from groundworks and superstructure to final handover – with focus on sustainability and community impact.

* Produce accurate records, as-built surveys, QA reports, and handover documentation.

Requirements:

* Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer, Setting Out Engineer, or QA Engineer in commercial construction or civil engineering.

* Proficiency in setting out techniques, quality assurance systems, and software (AutoCAD, n4ce, Revit, BIM 360).

* HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related; valid CSCS card required.

* Full UK driving license and flexibility to cover sites within 1.5 hours of Coventry.

* Background in new build commercial projects such as schools, hospitals, colleges, universities, care homes, or leisure developments.

* Strong organizational skills to manage multiple construction sites simultaneously.
