An esteemed independent day and boarding school located just outside Gloucester seeks a Director of Music to join from September 2025. This is a senior leadership teaching position within the Creative Arts Faculty, ideal for an experienced Music Teacher or current HoD looking to lead a flourishing and well-funded department.
The school has a rich musical tradition including choirs, orchestras, chamber music, and an ambitious annual performance schedule, from cathedral concerts to international tours.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee curriculum delivery for Music across Years 7 to 13
*
Conduct and lead ensembles, choirs, and orchestras
*
Organise major school performances, music festivals, and tours
*
Line manage visiting music staff and co-curricular programmes
*
Promote music scholarships and outreach
Candidate Requirements:
*
Music degree with QTS or equivalent
*
Substantial experience in teaching and leading KS4/KS5 Music
*
Experience in choral conducting or instrumental direction
*
Enthusiasm for both classical and contemporary repertoire
*
Excellent administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills
