Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Outreach
Location: Community-Based (Various Locations)
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you want to make a meaningful impact by working with primary-aged pupils who are currently outside of mainstream school settings?
We are looking for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our outreach team from September 2025. This full-time, term-time only role involves working directly with primary school children in the community, providing individualised support in settings such as the home, local libraries, or community centres.
Key Responsibilities:
Support primary-aged children with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
Deliver personalised learning activities, designed in collaboration with teachers and therapists
Build safe, nurturing relationships to support emotional regulation, engagement, and progress
Encourage the development of social, emotional and communication skills in varied, real-life environments
Maintain detailed records of student engagement and progress
Work closely with families and other professionals to ensure consistent, holistic support
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with primary-aged children with SEN in an educational or care setting
An understanding of child development and the challenges faced by children with additional needs
A calm, adaptable, and empathetic approach
The ability to work independently while remaining part of a wider supportive team
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
