Are you a Youth Worker who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges?
A forward-thinking and inclusive SEMH school is seeking a Youth Support Worker to provide 1:1 support and intervention for students with SEMH needs, autism (ASD), and challenging behaviour.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils who may be at risk of exclusion or disengagement, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a pathway to success.
The Role – Youth Support Worker
* Deliver 1:1 interventions tailored to students with SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs
* Support pupils in and out of the classroom, helping them engage with learning
* Work as part of a pastoral and inclusion team, ensuring students feel safe and supported
* Build strong, consistent relationships with young people, acting as a mentor and positive role model
* Help manage emotional regulation, de-escalate behaviour, and apply trauma-informed approaches
* Liaise with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies where appropriate
* Track and report on behaviour, progress, and emotional wellbeing
You Will Need – Youth Support Worker
* Experience working with young people with SEMH, ASD, or behavioural needs (school, youth work, mentoring or care)
* Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with patience and empathy
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries
* A calm, resilient, and proactive attitude
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

* Behaviour Mentors or Youth Workers
* Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Youth Studies
* Anyone with a background in alternative provision, PRU, or pastoral roles
