Our Client is a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor. With a wealth of experience working on residential, education, healthcare and commercial projects, working with tier 1 contractors and major developers across South East England. We specialise in providing a full range of construction services for the development of mixed tenure projects working with well-known housing associations, local authorities and private developers. They also provide services in the private residential housing market and can deliver projects in the commercial, healthcare, education and recreational markets.
The Role:
As the Assistant Estimator in Civil Engineering, your primary responsibility will be to assist in developing estimates for civil engineering projects, following the company's established estimating protocols and processes. You will work closely with other members of the tender team to secure projects that align with the company's objectives in terms of value and scope.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate should have at least one year of experience in estimating or surveying, preferably supported by formal education or qualifications in these fields. Prior experience in estimating, combined with a preference for an office-based role, will be advantageous. We are looking for individuals who are eager to join a reputable subcontracting company known for its stability.
Under the supervision of the Senior Estimator, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Compiling and preparing tenders for submission.
Collaborating with contracts and small works managers and teams to collect post-tender information.
Conducting take-offs and creating bills of quantities for pricing purposes.
Preparing and presenting tender adjudication reports to the General Manager.
