Horizontal Borer, Coatbridge, £17.50 per hour, Temp to Perm.

Milling Machinist/ Horizontal Borer opportunity available with a well-established heavy engineering company based in Coatbridge. This is a workshop-based role suited to experienced machinists with a strong background in heavy engineering, capable of working with large components such as heavy workpipes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating horizontal boring machines and milling equipment to cut, shape, and finish metal parts to specification. A high level of precision, ability to interpret engineering drawings, and knowledge of appropriate tooling are essential for this role.

Machinist Responsibilities:

* Set up and operate horizontal boring and milling machines

* Bore holes and machine heavy-duty components such as large workpipes

* Read and interpret engineering drawings to complete precision machining tasks

* Select appropriate tools and materials for each job

* Carry out quality checks to ensure machining accuracy

* Maintain machines and work area in accordance with company safety standards

* Liaise with supervisors and workshop staff to meet production targets

Essential Skills & Experience:

* Time-served background in machining within a heavy engineering environment

* Extensive experience with horizontal borers and milling machines

* Ability to interpret complex technical drawings

* Knowledge of tooling and machining processes for large metal components

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
