Blair West are supporting Nixon Hire to find a Financial Accountant.
Nixon Hire is a well-established, private-equity backed business providing hire solutions across construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. With a strong reputation for reliability and service, they are seeking a technically capable Financial Accountant to strengthen the finance team.
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this role plays a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and supporting continuous improvement across finance processes.
The opportunity:
* Oversee the preparation of financial accounts and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Manage the external audit relationship, including preparation of statutory accounts.
* Prepare consolidated accounts and associated schedules for group reporting.
* Maintain a robust and accurate balance sheet each month, ensuring audit readiness.
* Manage HP funding and invoice discounting facilities, including lender relationships and daily transactions.
* Prepare cash flow statements, covenant calculations, and other key financial analysis.
* Ensure compliance with all tax obligations (VAT, corporation tax, etc.), liaising with external advisors as required.
* Oversee the calculation and reporting of colleague bonus schedules.
* Identify and drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and data quality.
* Support additional regulatory or business reporting requirements as needed.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
* A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* A strong technical accounting background, with experience producing high-quality financial accounts and disclosures.
* The ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* Proven experience applying accounting standards pragmatically within commercial settings.
* Treasury management experience (desirable).
* Demonstrated ability to enhance financial processes and reporting systems.
* Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
* Confidence and credibility when working with stakeholders across the business.
