Health & Safety Advisor - Mechanical and Electrical

Our client is a leading Mechanical & Electrical design and fitout contractor based in East London. They cover design, installation and commissioning services across all sectors and have established themselves as a go to contractor in this space.

Due to a large forward order book for the coming year, they are seeking to add an M&E Health & Safety Advisor to their team. The M&E Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting inspections and audits, developing and implementing safety policies, and providing guidance to employees to minimise workplace hazards.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a meticulous Health & Safety professional to get involved with stimulating M&E projects, with large scope for progression through the business.

The ideal candidate would come from a M&E contracting background with accident and incident investigation experience.

Role Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of mechanical and electrical projects.
Conduct regular risk assessments on-site and in the workplace to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Lead investigations into any accidents, near misses, or other safety-related incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Stay abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and regulations, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all relevant standards and requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections to assess compliance with health and safety policies, identifying areas for improvement and working with project teams to implement necessary changes.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities, preparing reports for management as required.
Chair and attend project HSEQ meetings and committees as agreed with the project teams, liaise with clients, principal designer and project teams about project HSEQ requirements.Health & Safety Advisor - Mechanical and Electrical

Role Requirements:

Experience in a mechanical/electrical contracting background preferred.
NEBOSH level 3 qualified (Minimum)
Microsoft office full suite - computer literate
Passionate about fostering safe and secure working environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
