Arch Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer for a Manufacturing company based in Coventry.
This is an exciting position suited to candidates experienced within Precision Manufacturing, that have a solid background within Quality, ideally within the Automotive or Motorsport industry.
Role responsibilities –
For the role of Quality Engineer, you will be completing first off inspection and In process inspection as well as running CMM programs.
You will be keeping the Quality areas in order and clean according to 5S method.
Calibration – Internal and external controls, booking of external calibration activities
For the role of Quality Engineer, you will keep control of non-conforming product, ensuring that parts are correctly entered into casting and setting registers and reporting details to management.
You will edit and modify Automatic CMM programs and carryout probe qualification in an autonomous way, etc
You will support the Quality Manager on Automotive quality tools and best practices application.
For the role of Quality Engineer, you will identify and recommend potential improvements of the quality system, for example, control plans, quality instructions, PFMEAs, to welcome lessons learned and new requirements.
Carryout Feasibility Study on new or modified drawings.
Drawings and specification check on status to be in line with the last updated released applicable version.
Necessary technical characteristics for semi machined items need to be properly evaluated and introduced).
Supplier performance monitoring – checking of all quality related subcontract deliveries (incoming inspection) and recording findings in an excel file.
Keeping the Data analysis spreadsheet up to date. Including customer free issue received material.
For the role of Quality Engineer, you will manage Automotive quality tools and best practices application, in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Liaising with customer SQA - Supplier Quality Assurance.
You will carry out internal audits for the role of Quality Engineer.
CMM programming – Creating CMM programs and ensuring that they are correct and meeting the requirement of the drawing and/or specification.
Monitor customer satisfaction using KPI’s, producing data and reporting on performance.
Monitor internal performance using KPI’s, producing data and reporting on performance.
Monitor supplier performance using KPI’s, producing data and reporting on performance.
Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
You will seek out risks to minimise them, and to seek out and maximise any opportunities for the role of Quality Engineer.
Role requirements –
Preferable:
HNC (Higher National Certificate) / HND (Higher National Diploma) with elements mainly on mechanical and quality qualifications.
Experience in quality control in automotive field, particularly on machined components.
CMM programming using QCT software, online and offline.
Required knowledge:
Interpretation of mechanical drawings (ISO Standard). Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances GD & T.
Ability to select and use basic measuring equipment, micrometres, callipers, protractors etc
Ability to use standard gauging including plug, gap, acceptance etc
Automatic CMM operating (selecting and running programs)
Ability to interpret and understand specific customer quality standards and requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of IS0:9001.
Basic IT skills, including MS office and particularly strong Excel skills (design a spread sheet, to setup filters and conditional formatting, to design a Pivot table) and ASE’s bespoke
For the role of Quality Engineer, you will have experience with the calibration of measuring equipment and gauges.
Automatic CMM basic program editing, probe qualification etc.
Good communication skills
Self-motivated and able to manage time in accordance with meeting customer deadlines/deliveries.
You will hold the ability to provide Quality Assurance support on Automotive quality tools and best practices, in a fast-paced engineering environment (ISR - Initial Sample Reports, balloons drawings, control plans, 8d reports, Deviation and Concession Requests, AIMs – Action in Manufacturing, etc.) for the role of Quality Engineer.
CMM full programming capability, also on complicated mechanical components like for example gear boxes. Creating CMM programs and ensuring that they are correct and meeting the requirement of the drawing and/or specification.
Process management software.
Ability to carry out MSA studies.
Basic knowledge TS16949 quality systems
SPC – Statistical Process Control, including QS-Stat (SPC Software)
