Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor
Location: Leeds
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a well-established consultancy practice. This position offers autonomy in managing diverse projects while maintaining strong client relationships and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities

Lead project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring quality standards and budget compliance
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including drawings, specifications and feasibility studies
Conduct building surveys across various property types and produce detailed reports with actionable recommendations
Manage financial aspects of medium-scale projects and coordinate external consultants
Build and maintain relationships with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders
Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to team development
Support business development activities and proposal preparationEssential Requirements

Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
Substantial experience in project management, building surveys, and contract administration
Strong background in party wall matters and landlord/tenant issues
Proven ability to lead and develop team members
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working within structured quality management systemsDesirable Qualifications

MRICS membership or working towards chartership
Experience with modern design software packagesTechnical Expertise Required

In-depth knowledge of both traditional and contemporary construction methods
Understanding of Building Regulations and relevant legislation
Familiarity with standard form contracts (JCT experience advantageous)
Experience across new build and refurbishment projects
