Are you an experienced Payroll Manager able to commit to a 6 month hybrid role?
Requirement for one day in the office working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Duties for the Payroll Manager include:-
* Manage and develop the payroll service, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
* Develop and maintain management information which evidence compliance with the service standard.
* Identify, analyse, and ensure all new legislation and government requirements are met including reporting requirements (e.g. Gender Pay Gap) and Holiday Pay calculation changes.
* Oversee HMRC Payroll related returns including P60, P11D’s and PSA agreements.
* To have an extensive knowledge of PAYE/NIC and statutory payments e.g. SSP, SMP and maintain compliance of internal controls and audit requirements.
* Oversee and manage the implementation of annual pay award.
* Maintain HRIS/Payroll system including ongoing development of system to meet group’s requirements.
* Drive forward continuous improvement which should include:
* Maintaining strong external contacts (HR specialists, lawyers, informal payroll manager networks) to understand potential changes legal and regulatory changes.
* Ensuring potential legislation are assessed for impact and preparations are made for implementation.
* Streamlining and automating processes; and
* Creating the conditions for greater self -service.
To be successful as a Payroll Manager you will need:-
* Deep knowledge and expertise in payroll management and administration, who can lead by example and impart their in-depth payroll knowledge to the team.
* Demonstrable practical awareness of HMRC & payroll legislation and regulations and their implications for practical workplace processes and issues.
* Depth of understanding of Payroll & HR systems and the potential they provide to improve and streamline processes to maximize efficiencies and ensure that HR resources can be focused on activities that add value to the group.
* Demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
