I'm working with a brilliant family-run horticulture business that's looking for a hands-on Team Leader to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous management experience and a genuine passion for horticulture, whether that's professional experience or just a deep love for working with plants.
The role is based at their nursery and warehouse, and it involves everything from organising and cleaning the space to leading a small team and getting stuck in with the physical side of the work. It's a very practical, on-the-ground role, perfect for someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty and being outdoors.
About the Job:
They're looking for someone to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the nursery and warehouse - keeping things clean, tidy, and running smoothly. You'll be expected to lead from the front, work closely with the family, and help keep the team motivated and productive.
It's not just a standard warehouse job - horticulture knowledge or a real interest in plants is essential. Over time, there's also the chance to take on more responsibility and progress into a more senior role helping manage the flower nursery itself.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and supporting the team in the nursery/warehouse
Keeping the workspace clean, tidy, and organised
Handling plants and horticultural stock carefully and efficiently
Organising stock and improving day-to-day workflow
Taking part in all the physical tasks involved - lifting, prepping, planting, etc.
Working closely with the family and being a reliable point of contact on the ground
What They're Looking For:
Experience or a strong passion for horticulture is a must
Proven experience in a team leader or management role
Great organisational and communication skills
Someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work and leads by example
A positive, proactive attitude and a team-player mentality
Someone reliable, who takes pride in their work and the space they're in
What Makes This Role Special:
It's a warm, supportive, family-run business - a genuinely nice team to work with
They offer great long-term potential, especially if you're interested in progressing within horticulture
It's a rewarding, down-to-earth role where you can really make a difference
Competitive pay depending on experience
Training and ongoing support will be provided
