SEN Teacher - Full-Time in Ashford

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with various SEN schools in the Ashford area that are looking for a experienced SEN Teachers to support learners from Reception through to Key Stage 4.
The schools support children who have faced complex challenges in mainstream education and need a therapeutic, structured environment to re-engage with learning. Many of the pupils have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and/or ADHD. Some are also looked-after children (LAC) with backgrounds of trauma.
What You'll Do:
Lead teaching and learning for a small class of pupils with EHCPs, tailoring lessons to suit diverse needs
Adapt content and teaching style to meet each child's developmental and emotional profile
Create a safe and trusting classroom environment where positive relationships can thrive
Work alongside skilled support staff and therapeutic specialists to remove barriers to learning
Play a key role in developing pupils' social skills, communication and resilience as well as academic progress
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEN or alternative provisions
Have strong understanding of SEMH, ASD, ADHD and the impact of trauma on behaviour and learning
Bring patience, creativity and structure to their teaching approach
Be committed to building lasting, supportive relationships with pupils and their families
Be confident managing challenging behaviours while maintaining a calm, therapeutic approach
Have a valid Enhanced Child-only DBS (on the update service), or willingness to apply for one.
