SEND Teaching Assistant

Complete Classroom Services is working in partnership with a specialist primary school in Guildford to recruit a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting September 2025. The school is trialling suitable candidates as soon as possible, so early applications are encouraged.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils aged 5–11 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You'll be working in small class settings alongside a supportive team of specialist staff to help deliver a tailored curriculum that promotes academic, social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

· Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans.

· Support behaviour management strategies in a positive, therapeutic way.

· Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

· Promote a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

· Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or other SEND (desirable).

· A calm, patient and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills.

· A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

· A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners.
