Senior Design Engineer – Watton | £45k–£55k

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to lead projects and mentor a team of engineers in the UK and India. You’ll support complex heater design projects, provide technical authority, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for clients.

What You’ll Do:

* Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and appraisals

* Approve drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation

* Take ownership of engineering calculations, material selection, and design analysis

* Act as technical authority internally and with clients

* Contribute to product improvements and new design solutions

* Ensure engineering best practices and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For:

* Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

* Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex mechanical designs

* Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor; knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD desirable

* Experience with engineering standards, product certification, and documentation
