Our client, a well-established and evolving manufacturing business, is currently seeking a Buyer to join their procurement team during an exciting phase of change.
The Buyer will manage the day-to-day operational procurement of materials, components, and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective support to production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review requests for quotation and source competitive pricing
Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value on cost, on-time delivery, and quality
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and development
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the ERP system
Source and onboard new suppliers in line with company standards
Expedite orders and resolve any delivery or supply issues
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to communicate material availability or delaysExperience and Knowledge required:
Previous experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within a manufacturing environment
Exposure to engineering manufacturing would be advantageous, but not essential
Proficient in using ERP systems and working with multi-level BOMs
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Effective communicator with a collaborative working styleOur client is committed to the ongoing development of its team and will support CIPS study and professional growth.
This is a hybrid position, with a requirement to be on-site three days per week
