About the Role

A leading defence organisation is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced missile systems. This is a hands-on design role within a multi-disciplinary team, ideal for someone with strong CAD skills and experience in defence, aerospace, or similar industries.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and proving activities for assemblies and components
Resolve manufacturing issues and support testing and trials
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on technical queries
Participate in design reviews and project planning

Essential Skills

Proficient in Creo 3D CAD
Strong knowledge of:
Manufacturing processes & tolerance studies
Structural design & material selection
FMEA, DfM/A, and environmental sealing
Defence standards & product lifecycle management
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Background

Defence or aerospace industry experience preferred
