Shape the Future of the UK's Electrical Infrastructure
Hays are working with a major Tier 1 contractor delivering high‑profile projects across the UK's electrical transmission network. Due to continued growth within their national frameworks, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of M&E projects across the South West and South Wales region.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Project Manager with strong substation or transmission experience to take ownership of complex works, lead multidisciplinary teams, and deliver projects that genuinely make an impact.
What You'll Be Doing

Leading the successful end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of M&E construction projects
Driving exceptional health, safety and environmental performance across all phases
Managing time, cost and quality outcomes while ensuring contractual compliance
Working closely with planning teams to develop and monitor programme performance
Bringing together Construction, Commercial, Engineering and Design teams under a cohesive project ethos.
Leading risk management strategies and ensuring timely resolution of technical and contractual matters
Contributing to new tender bids and supporting commercial reporting (including monthly CVRs)
Ensuring all project targets and scorecard measures are met or exceededWhat We're Looking For

Experience delivering National Grid substation or electrical transmission projects
Proven leadership on design & build projects within the utilities or infrastructure sector.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with clients and suppliers
Construction/engineering qualification or equivalent experience
Project Management accreditation (APM, PMP or similar) desirable
Excellent understanding of NEC contracts
Strong knowledge of HSWA, CDM, EAWR and other key regulations
Commercially astute with solid risk and opportunity management
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budgetWhat you need to do now
