Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a fast-growing Earthworks and Ground Remediation Contractor to find an ambitious Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step in their career.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit, highly respected team delivering bulk earthworks and ground remediation across major commercial, industrial, and residential developments throughout the UK. Based in Alfreton, the business offers genuine long-term career progression within a collaborative environment that values autonomy, trust, and professional development.

With projects ranging from £500k to £10m, you’ll play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth and success.

This contractor has built an outstanding reputation working alongside Tier 1 Principal Contractors on major development projects across the UK. Their work is critical in preparing land for large-scale construction, and they are now entering an exciting period of expansion.

You’ll be primarily office-based with site visits as required, benefiting from a flexible and supportive working culture. The office environment is relaxed yet professional, working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, and other construction specialists.

The Role

You will take commercial responsibility for multiple earthworks projects, ensuring budgets are accurate, risks are managed, and projects are delivered profitably and efficiently. Projects are typically JCT-based, short duration, and fast-paced.

Key Responsibilities:

* Managing multiple projects of varying value and complexity

* Procuring subcontract works in line with programme and target budgets

* Managing client and subcontractor accounts

* Monitoring programme performance, progress, and costs weekly

* Managing change control processes

* Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities

* Financial reporting and commercial performance analysis

* Preparing and submitting monthly payment applications

* Following company commercial and operational procedures

Who They’re Looking For

You’ll be a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor with experience in earthworks, groundworks, or civil engineering environments.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

* Confident communicator able to build relationships at all levels

* Strong attention to detail with a proactive mindset

* Good Microsoft Office skills

* Excellent time management and reliability

* Full UK Driving Licence
