JOB TITLE: CAD Technician (Packages)
EMPLOYING ENTITY: Dutypoint Limited
EMPLOYMENT BASIS: Permanent
LOCATION: Gloucester
HOURS OF WORK: 42.5 per week
REPORTS TO: Technical & Engineering Manager
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The CAD Technician role focuses on compiling drawings and CAD models of standard and customer-specific designs of pump systems and a wide range of other CAD-related tasks.
This is a fulfilling role driven by serving the many and varied needs of our valued customers according to their requested timescales, but always with a strong focus on attention to detail and high-quality drawing output. Other tasks would include new product development drawing work, continuous improvement projects, drawings for product approval applications, other technical drawings, and other projects that enhance the product range.
TEAM FUNCTION:
With the growth of data centres and district heating this market is likely to grow significantly over the next years.
We have a team that are out getting ourselves specified, working around technical challenges and selling the products.
The team create special designs to support quotations through to as-built drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Complete customer approval drawings in line with the customer needs, this might include; pre-sale generic layout drawings, post-sale approval drawings, detailed production drawings and BoM’s, and as-built drawings as required
* Complete general SolidWorks CAD tasks & project, including maintaining standard parts library, adding new parts to library, modelling up new parts, creating/checking standard product GA drawings
* Manage and execute mini engineering projects from start to finish
* Supporting with management of the engineering change requests
* Preparing drawings and CAD output for project documentation, e.g. datasheets, selection guides, exploded drawings, O&M manuals etc., as well as creating other 3D CAD models & schematic drawings (P&IDs)
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
* Drawing Accuracy
* Meeting milestone deadlines
* Implementation of engineering change notices
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Good knowledge of SolidWorks CAD
* Sheet metal and general metal fabrication design and knowledge advantageous
* Experience with Product Life Management systems advantageous
* Mechanical pipework knowledge advantageous
