On behalf of my client, I am currently recruiting for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in London.
They are an award-winning, Restoration and New Build specialist with an industry leading in-house design department and, committed to being a sustainable business and working with their clients to deliver the highest quality projects, on time and within budget. Their Restoration team offers a full range of specialist restoration services and their New Build team specialise in facades, full wall build ups, interiors, hard landscaping and faïence/terracotta.
The successful candidate will ideally have some site experience, preferably in the field of what has been outlined above.
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to provide commercial and financial expertise on construction projects, managing costs, contracts, and procurement. They support senior surveyors in tasks like cost forecasting, risk management, and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Management: Estimating project costs, forecasting final costs, and managing budgets.
* Contract Administration: Preparing and managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and handling variations.
* Procurement: Assisting with sourcing materials and subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and managing orders.
* Financial Reporting: Monitoring project finances, preparing payment applications, and managing final accounts.
* Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating commercial risks associated with the project.
* Client Communication: Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and collaboration.
* Tender Management: Preparing tender documents, analysing bids, and negotiating contracts.
