External Works Manager

Zeal Recruitment are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced External Works Manager to join a live construction site in Sutton Coldfield

The role is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of superstructure and external works across multiple blocks, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Block A – Superstructure

• Manage and oversee all superstructure works on Block A.
• Attend and contribute to weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Ensure planned works are progressing in line with the Lean Planner.
• Proactively follow up and chase subcontractors where works are not being delivered as planned.
• Carry out quality inspections and complete superstructure sign-offs upon completion of works.
• Raise observations and record issues identified during works using Procore.
• Manage snagging of the superstructure through Procore.
• Liaise closely with the logistics manager to coordinate MEWP operations alongside groundworks activities.

Block B – Superstructure

• Manage and oversee superstructure works on Block B.
• Carry out snagging of elevations and record issues on Procore.
• Coordinate outstanding works and actively chase subcontractors to achieve completion.
• Complete quality inspections and sign-offs following the completion of superstructure works.
• External Works
• Work alongside the logistics manager to plan and manage external works.
• Monitor progress of external works to ensure alignment with programme requirements.
• Carry out snagging inspections and record issues on Procore.
• Raise observations for any quality or workmanship issues identified.
• Complete quality sign-offs once external works are finished to the required standard

As the External Works Manager you will need:

• SMSTS, FIRST AID, CSCS card
• Proven experience of externals and logistics
• Experience using digital management systems, preference being Procure
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations and H&S
• Excellent leadership skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• High organisation skills
