Ward Manager (RMN / RNLD)
Location: York
Salary: Up to £52,591 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week (rota-based)
Contract: Permanent

A specialist neurological and neurorehabilitation service in York is recruiting an experienced Ward Manager to provide strong clinical and operational leadership within a purpose-built inpatient setting.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated nursing team supporting adults with acquired brain injury and complex mental health needs, within a highly structured and person-centred care environment.

The role:

Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership across the ward

Act as a positive role model, promoting high standards of evidence-based nursing care

Ensure safe, effective admission and discharge planning

Maintain effective communication and continuity of care across multidisciplinary teams

Lead, support, and develop nursing and support staff

Promote a learning culture, reflective practice, and continuous improvement

Ensure robust risk management, safeguarding, and quality assurance processes

Oversee staffing, rota management, recruitment, retention, sickness, and annual leave

Requirements (essential):

NMC registration (RMN or RNLD)

Experience working under the Mental Health Act

Proven experience managing a ward or large clinical team

Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills

Experience managing complex care or rehabilitation services

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

Mentorship in Practice (MIP) qualification or willingness to complete

Experience within neurorehabilitation, mental health, or complex needs settings
