Job Summary:
A dedicated and supportive primary special educational needs (SEN) school in Southwark is currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join their administrative team. This is a dual-role position combining financial administration with front of house responsibilities, offering a varied and rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Finance Duties:
Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments using school finance systems
Assist with budget monitoring and financial reporting
Maintain accurate financial records in line with audit requirements
Support with petty cash and reconciliations
Liaise with suppliers and local authority finance teams
Front of House Duties:
Greet all visitors, parents, and professionals in a professional and welcoming manner
Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly
Manage incoming and outgoing post
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Provide general admin support to senior leadership and office staff
Requirements:
Previous finance or school office experience (essential)
Familiarity with school finance systems (e.g., FMS or SIMS) is highly desirable
Strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
