Job Description
? The Job Mission
We are looking for a Senior Piping Engineer with a strong mechanical background to play a leading role at Hinkley Point C. Embedded within the client organisation, you will provide expert technical oversight on piping systems design, installation, and compliance. Your future team is tackling some of the most complex engineering challenges in the UK’s energy transition. This is a hybrid role—three days in the office, two from home.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead resolution of general queries, non-conformances, and design change requests
Ensure piping systems comply with all safety and environmental regulations
Review and challenge technical decisions to align with engineering strategy
Coordinate technical support from internal teams and external partners
Oversee resolution of open points and closure of technical issues
Assess and mitigate risks related to piping installation and design
Liaise effectively with Responsible Designers and cross-disciplinary stakeholders
Report directly to the Engineering Lead with insights and progress updates
Qualifications
? Essential Skills
Extensive experience on major construction or infrastructure projects
Strong background in piping design, installation, or commissioning
In-depth understanding of standards such as BS, CDM, EN, and ASME
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering✔️ Desired Skills
Experience within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong stakeholder engagement and technical negotiation skills
Understanding of welding processes and quality specifications
Experience in a site-based engineering capacity
