My client a leading London Housing association are currently seeking an experienced compliance manager to come on board for a 12 month FTC. This position will be a mixture of 3 days hybrid, 2 days in the office.

You’ll take on the role of a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ within the Asset Compliance Directorate in your key areas of responsibility. You will work with your Head of Service to ensure that Southern Housing is compliant from a legal and regulatory perspective. You will keep abreast of all changes to legal and regulatory requirements. You will ensure you are aware of best practice in your area from within the housing sector and further afield. You will ensure our formal documentation (management plans, etc.) are up to date. And that everything we say we will do, is being done. You will hold financial responsibility for contracts up to the value of £10m per annum. You will line manage up to 7-8 direct reports.

You’ll be based at one of our main offices in either Farringdon, Croydon, Hastings, Maidstone, or Sittingbourne, with the option for working in a hybrid way when appropriate and as agreed with your manager.

The role will involve managing a team to deliver excellent levels of service and safety for resident. You’ll maintain a selection of compliance streams whilst ensuring robust quality standards are achieved. As a professional in your field, you will:

* Manage consultants and contractors associated to your areas of responsibility.

* Ensure you and your team apply the Contract Management Framework over all formal contract arrangements.

* Ensure you and your team first-class communication and liaison with all stakeholders when issues arise.

* Ensure you and your team deliver the highest possible standards of customer care with residents and tenants’ groups.

* Take responsibility for the databases and the data that you use to manage your compliance activity.

* Ensure that your work is carried out within budget, within the terms of the contracts and that value for money is achieved in all instances.

* Maintain and deliver against the Service Improvement Plans for your area, ensuring innovation and advancement is constant.

* Own and manage your management plans and procedures, ensuring everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities.

* Ensure others, outside of your direct team, are complying with the requirements of your management plans and procedures.

* Ensure all primary activity in your areas is completed before they go overdue and if this is not possible ensure you can demonstrate all reasonable attempts to complete the activity have been made.

* Preparing specifications, work with the Procurement Team to ensure timely procurement of contracts, ensuring the appointment of high performing providers

* Ensure adequate quality assurance processes are in place to safeguard the quality of all relevant data coming into the database.

* Develop and execute quality checking regimes, three lines of defence, for both internal and external operations.

* Contribute to the production of short, medium and long-term investment plans for your area of responsibility.

* Ensure all secondary activity in your areas is completed before they go overdue and if this is not possible ensure you can demonstrate all reasonable attempts to complete the activity have been made.

* Develop and execute adequate training plans are in place for your area of responsibility.

* Provide training to staff and contractors in your area of expertise
