Warehouse Assistant, based at Cross Park (Cambridge Road) (must have a valid FLT licence)

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To effectively assist all warehouse operations and resources on the shift, to ensure maximum efficiency and excellent customer service. Control the security and maintenance of the warehouse and equipment ensuring Health and Safety regulations are maintained. Ensure housekeeping procedures are adhered to and all stock is picked, stacked, maintained and secured to company and client standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Ensure housekeeping procedures are adhered to and all stock is picked, stacked, maintained and secured to company and client standards.
 Fosters excellent Health and Safety practices to provide a safe, healthy and secure working environment. Ensures compliance with all company standards, policies and procedures.
 To be accurate and effective in completing work in required time frame.
 Work as a team member with all other departmental personnel.
 Ensure all new stock is unloaded within agreed turnaround time and checked against appropriate quality standards. All BBE details are recorded accurately for keying by Stock Controller and goods are put away as per instruction through the use of R.D.T.’s if applicable.
 Ensure when manual handling product that all guide lines are followed and adhered to.
 Ensure that any machinery been used is within your skills level.
 Ensure that adequate space is available within the marshalling area to receive stock; also housekeeping routines are performed daily.
 Ensure we receive/despatch stock in a good clean condition, on time and all goods are safely stacked and orders are picked and despatched correctly through the use of R.D.T.’s and check on (stock control system) if applicable.
 Attend regular meeting with management and stock control to keep updating and improving all warehouse operations.
 Adhering to company procedures, ensuring that all related paperwork is completed and pallets are accounted for.
 Encouraged to regularly communicate/consult with management on all employment and operational matters to encourage high employee involvement. Ensure that all grievances are quickly and effectively dealt with in accordance with company policies.
 Ensure protective equipment is used at all times.
 Ensure company policies and procedures are complied with at all times.
 Ensure MHE equipment is used correctly and not to use equipment that you are not yet trained for.
 Report any damage or glass breakage according to company policy.
 Report any dangerous occurrences according to Health and Safety regulations.
 Adhere and comply with the company’s Health and Safety Regulations.
 Record accurate information on any daily safety checks of warehouse equipment.
 A flexible approach to the job functions including work patterns.
 Undertake any other reasonable assignments as may be required by your manager.
 Notify your line manager of any potential Health & Safety issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Counterbalance Fork Truck Licences from a recognised training provider.
 Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
 English language verbal and written
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 Experience of working in a fast changing environment.
 Manual Handling.
 WMS (Locate IT).
 RDT’s and Barcodes.
 Computer literate.
 Good written and verbal communication skills.
 Computer literate - Microsoft Office packages.
 To treat others with dignity and respect.
 Endeavour to deliver the best quality service to internal and external customers alike.
 Pro-active communication.
 Organised.
 Service orientated at all times.
 Accurate.
 Attention to detail.
 Capacity to complete work in required time frame.
 Flexible, trustworthy and approachable.
