School Caretaker
Location: Melksham, Wiltshire
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time

We are currently working with a welcoming school in the Melksham area who are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their site team from January.

This is a key role within the school, ensuring the site is safe, secure and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Opening and closing the school premises

*

Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks

*

Ensuring the site is clean, safe and compliant with health & safety requirements

*

Managing security, including alarms and access

*

Supporting with room setups for school events and activities

*

Liaising with contractors where required

*

Grounds maintenance (seasonal duties)

The Ideal Candidate Will:

*

Have previous caretaking, maintenance or site management experience (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

*

Be practical, hands-on and able to work independently

*

Have a good understanding of health & safety

*

Be reliable, trustworthy and flexible

*

Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
