Design Engineer – SolidWorks & FEA (Contract)

Location: Teesside (On-Site)

Engagement: Contract, Ltd Co or Umbrella (SDS Pending)

Duration: 1–3 Months (Immediate Start)

We are supporting a leading Teesside engineering and manufacturing business that requires short-term cover within its design team. The role focuses on SolidWorks modelling, fabrication drawings, and FEA/structural analysis for steel-fabricated products.

This is a hands-on engineering position, ideal for someone who can integrate quickly and support live customer projects.

Key Responsibilities

Create fabrication and outline drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Perform structural analysis using SolidWorks FEA and in-house simulation tools.

Produce accurate 3D models for bespoke telecom structures.

Support estimating and costing for new product development.

Liaise with customers to clarify specifications and technical requirements.

Assist with rapid product development to support new sales opportunities.

Coordinate with production teams to ensure design intent is met.

Ideally experience:

Proven capability in SolidWorks (3D modelling + detailed fabrication drawings).

Experience using FEA or simulation tools.

Understanding of fabricated steel structures

Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical, Structural or similar engineering discipline.

Other notes:

Negotiable hourly rate

100% site based, 5 days per week.

Start: ASAP
