Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Deputy Finance Manager to join our client's Finance team based in Coulsdon. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the day-to-day management of finance operations, focusing on ledger accuracy, team supervision, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Ledger Oversight:

Assist in managing the Payables, Receivables, and Settlements teams.

*

Oversee purchase ledger activities: invoice coding, payment approval, bank reconciliation.

*

Ensure compliance with payment terms and internal processes.

*

Supervise customer refunds and escalate complaint resolutions where necessary.

*

Oversee company settlements and ensure prompt approvals.

Withdrawals & Financial Reporting:

*

Maintain nominal ledger accuracy and prepare payroll journals.

*

Submit VAT returns and manage compliance.

*

Conduct solvency checks for Appointed Representatives.

*

Handle urgent refunds, PAYE, and dividend payments.

*

Generate reports from CRM and financial data systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

*

Proven experience in a commercial finance role, ideally within an SME.

*

Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.

*

Experience managing client accounts, with international exposure desirable.

*

Customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

*

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

*

Proficient in Sage 200 and Microsoft Office.

*

Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.

*

AAT Qualified or in final year of study.

*

Professional and confident telephone manner.
