About the Role

This is a key opportunity to join a major projects Fit Out division delivering high-value Cat A and Cat B schemes typically from £50 million upwards. As Design Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the full design process through pre-construction and delivery phases, ensuring the successful integration of design, technical, and construction requirements.

You will work closely with internal teams, design consultants, and clients to deliver projects to the highest standards of quality, programme, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all aspects of design across pre-construction and construction stages.

Lead design workshops and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Review and manage design information for buildability, compliance, and value.

Drive collaboration between design and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Support bid and tender submissions with design-related input and value engineering solutions.

Monitor design programmes, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of information.

Ensure all design works comply with statutory regulations, project requirements, and company standards.

About You

Proven experience working in a Design Management role within a main contracting or fit out environment or as a Project Architect with significant delivery and coordination experience.

Strong track record of delivering large-scale Fit Out projects (Cat A & Cat B).

Excellent understanding of construction methodology, technical detailing, and coordination between design disciplines.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple interfaces and drive design quality throughout all project stages.

Relevant qualification in Architecture, Design Management, or a related construction discipline.
