About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and organised Housing Management Worker to provide safe, secure, and empowering accommodation and support services for women in York who are experiencing multiple disadvantages. You'll play a key role in managing safe houses, providing practical and emotional support, and working collaboratively with other professionals to create lasting change.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular property checks to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Report and follow up on repairs; maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
Support women to complete housing benefit forms and manage rent payments.
Work with women to create support plans, risk assessments, and realistic move-on goals.
Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy breaches.
Build strong, respectful relationships with residents and multi-agency partners.
Help women access services related to domestic abuse, substance use, mental health, and criminal justice.
Maintain accurate records using our case management systems.What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience working with vulnerable women or those with complex needs (e.g. domestic abuse, substance use, criminal justice)
Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children
Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
IT competency (Word, Outlook, internet-based systems)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a trauma-informed team
Driver with access to own vehicle and appropriate insuranceDesirable:
Experience using housing management software
Understanding of housing benefit processes and tenancy management
