About the Role
Recreo Global is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established heavy fabrication manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality and reliability. Due to continued growth at their Ecclesfield site, we are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards across complex steel fabrications, acoustic enclosures, tanks, and bespoke engineering projects. Above all, we are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with the right attitude to maintain a culture of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out detailed visual, dimensional, and weld inspections against technical drawings and specifications.

*

Perform Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), specifically MPI testing on carbon steel lift points.

*

Oversee inspection hold points and final sign-offs to guarantee compliance with customer requirements.

*

Manage and investigate non-conformances during fabrication.

*

Witness and record hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.

*

Conduct snagging inspections on completed enclosures and tanks.

*

Carry out in-process fabrication inspections and welder audits.

*

Verify torque levels on bolted connections.

We are particularly interested in candidates with hands-on NDT inspection experience (MPI essential) who can bring accuracy and rigour to the role. The ideal person will also demonstrate:

Skills & Qualifications

*

Proven experience in NDT inspection (MPI Level 2 certification required).

*

CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent PCN Visual Weld Inspection.

*

Ability to interpret technical drawings and conduct dimensional inspections.

*

Knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.

*

Effective communication skills and experience using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

*

Coating inspection experience (advantageous but not essential).
