SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive specialist school in the L5 area of Liverpool. The school caters to pupils aged 3–19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This is a full-time role, working closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils’ learning, communication, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs

Assist with personal care and sensory activities

*
Support communication using PECS, Makaton, or other AAC systems

*
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families

*
Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements

*
Previous experience in an SEN setting is essential

Understanding of PMLD and ASD and associated strategies

*
A calm, patient, and resilient approach

*
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

*
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
