About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HCPC-registered Psychologist to join our growing neuro-rehabilitation and brain injury service in the Cheadle/Stoke area. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with adults with complex neurological conditions, including acquired and traumatic brain injuries, across two specialist inpatient wards (10-bed and 8-bed units).

You will work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, and support workers. The role is flexible and open to applicants interested in either full-time (37.5 hours/week) or part-time consultant work (3 days/week).

Support patients across two dedicated wards (10-bed and 8-bed) specialising in post-acute neuro-rehabilitation and cognitive support.

Provide case formulations, behavioural strategies, and risk assessments tailored to individual client needs.

Contribute to the overall care planning process in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Deliver staff training and reflective practice sessions to support therapeutic consistency and psychological safety across the team.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with HCPC, BPS, and local clinical governance guidelines.

Supervise assistant psychologists and contribute to service audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent recognised by HCPC).

Full HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a neuro-rehabilitation, brain injury, or inpatient mental health setting.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

Experience delivering psychological interventions in inpatient or community neuro settings.

Previous experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours or cognitive impairments following ABI/TBI.

Skills in clinical supervision and/or staff training.

What We Offer

Competitive salary up to £62,500 (pro rata for part-time).

Structured CPD support including access to internal and external training events.

Regular supervision and reflective practice opportunities.

On-site parking and well-equipped facilities tailored for neuro-rehabilitation care.
