Senior / Principal Urban Designer
Location: Cardiff or Bristol
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 (DOE)
Are you an experienced Urban Designer looking to take the next step in your career? We’re working with a respected multidisciplinary design, planning and engineering practice who are seeking a talented Senior or Principal Urban Designer to join their growing team in either Cardiff or Bristol.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping high-quality places and delivering impactful, design-led projects across residential, mixed-use, regeneration and strategic masterplanning sectors.
The Role
As Senior/Principal Urban Designer, you will:
Lead and contribute to a wide variety of urban design and masterplanning projects
Provide creative, strategic and technical input at all stages of design
Work collaboratively with architects, planners, landscape architects and engineers
Prepare and present design concepts, frameworks, development briefs and reports
Engage with clients, local authorities and stakeholders
Support junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the urban design team
Ensure work aligns with best practice, design quality principles and sustainable placemaking objectivesAbout You
We’re looking for someone who has:
Strong experience in urban design and masterplanning, ideally within the UK
A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
Excellent design, graphic and presentation skills (Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, GIS etc.)
Confidence producing high-quality reports, diagrams and visual material
A strong understanding of planning and development processes
The ability to lead projects, manage deadlines and liaise effectively with clients
A proactive, collaborative and design-driven mindsetBenefits:
