Salary: £60,000–£80,000 + Performance Bonus
Sector: Building Services / MEP Design Consultancy
Employment Type: Full‑Time, Hybrid with Manchester Office presence

Are you an accomplished electrical engineer ready to step into a leadership role that blends technical excellence, strategic influence and business impact? I’m representing a top-tier global consultancy with deep multidisciplinary capability and a clear focus on sustainable, future-facing design. This isn’t your typical “principal designer” slot - it’s a senior Associate role with broad ownership, technical authority and visibility across major projects.

About the Opportunity

You will sit at the intersection of design leadership, client influence and strategic delivery, playing a key role in shaping electrical services across high-profile, technically complex buildings and infrastructure programmes. Your input will shape design philosophy, mentoring frameworks, and market positioning within the UK team.

This organisation operates with a global reach, more than 1,400 experts in the UK and over 18,000 worldwide, combining deep local insight with international design excellence. They are renowned for integrated engineering across buildings, transport, energy and sustainability solutions, driven by a mission to enable sustainable societies through technical excellence and innovation.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

* Drive high‑impact electrical design leadership from early strategy and concept stages through detailed design.

* Lead technical direction on power distribution, lighting & emergency systems, fire & life safety, earthing systems and resilient electrical infrastructure.

* Provide strategic input into bids, proposals and client engagement, helping win and shape work in the competitive UK built environment market.

* Mentor and develop electrical engineering talent, elevating design standards across teams.

* Partner with mechanical, public health, BIM, sustainability and architectural disciplines to deliver truly integrated engineering solutions.

* Influence internal systems and best‑practice delivery methodologies to ensure technical quality, consistency and innovation.

Who You Are

* A highly experienced electrical building services designer with solid consultancy experience - ideally in complex or high‑visibility projects.

* A strategic thinker who can contribute to business development and engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.

* Strong technical authority in UK building standards, regulations and best practice.

* Proficient with Revit/BIM workflows — and able to champion coordinated, digital design solutions.

* A mentor and builder of teams, with a track record of uplifting technical quality and performance across multidisciplinary groups.

Why This Role Is Different

This opportunity is not a typical delivery-only design job; it is a leadership-oriented position within an organisation that is consistently ranked among the world’s top engineering and design firms. Rather than being siloed, electrical engineers here influence project strategy early and advocate for excellence throughout the design lifecycle. You will join a culture that brings together Nordic engineering heritage and global ambition, and that genuinely prioritises sustainable, practical, and innovative outcomes in everything it delivers.

What’s on Offer

* Competitive base salary £60k–£80k + performance bonus aligned to strategic contribution.

* Hybrid working model with strong Manchester team presence.

* Leadership support and professional development that accelerates your career trajectory.

* A high‑trust, collaborative culture that values technical rigour and quality design outcomes.

* Exposure to multidisciplinary projects and the chance to influence practice‑wide standards.

If you’re an established Electrical Designer / Associate-level engineer looking to elevate your influence, lead teams, and help shape how high-performance, sustainable buildings are engineered, let’s talk in confidence
