The Role: As our Outdoor Education Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Designing and delivering diverse outdoor learning programmes (e.g., bushcraft, hiking, climbing, water sports, Duke of Edinburgh, team-building).
Facilitating a safe and nurturing environment where students can build confidence and life skills.
Adapting activities to meet the specific needs of students in an AP setting, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Monitoring student progress and contributing to their individual learning plans.
Managing and maintaining outdoor equipment to ensure safety and readiness.Essential Qualities:
Proven ability to work effectively with young people, particularly those with complex needs.
Strong practical outdoor skills and knowledge.
Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) highly desirable but not essential; relevant outdoor education qualifications (e.g., NGB awards, Forest School Leader) and significant experience are equally valued.Join our dedicated team in Burnley, Lancashire!
