Job Title: Optronics Systems Engineer

Location: Sandwich, Kent

Contract: Permanent
Rate: Competitive

Our Client is seeking an experienced Optronics Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of optical, electro-optical, and laser-based sensors into advanced systems. This role spans the full project lifecycle, from requirements capture to system verification and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

* Act as engineering lead for multidisciplinary projects involving optical, electro-optical, or laser technologies (e.g., LRF, target designation).

* Capture stakeholder requirements and develop system and sub-system specifications.

* Manage interfaces, technical risks, and opportunities throughout the design phase.

* Contribute to bid preparation, technical documentation, and customer meetings.

* Plan and execute verification and validation testing.

* Support integration of products in development and undertake customer visits as required.

Requirements:

* Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

* Postgraduate experience with an optronics or product manufacturing background preferred.

* Knowledge of optical, electro-optical, laser, mechanical, electronics, and software disciplines.

* Familiarity with requirements management, Mil Specs, and Def Stan standards.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

* Ability to obtain SC security clearance and hold a full UK driving licence.
