Prosper Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading ecological consultancy based in the North East of England, dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and biodiversity across various sectors. With a focus on delivering high-quality ecological services, the company engages in a diverse range of projects encompassing renewable energy, residential developments, leisure facilities, and mineral extraction.

Due to increased workload and growth plans, our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to be part of an innovative organisation that engages in a wide array of projects. They have a diverse range of clients, which include everyone from individual homeowners to multinational enterprises, providing plenty of variety in this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, and Ecological Impact Assessments.
Produce high-quality written reports and documentation.
Manage projects effectively while liaising with clients to address ecological concerns.
Identify, understand, and resolve various ecological issues while demonstrating enthusiasm for UK ecology and the environment.

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of the planning system and current wildlife policy and legislation.
Proven experience in ecological assessments and surveys, with at least two licenses for Protected Species.
Strong report writing skills with an organised, flexible approach to work.
Relevant educational background with a good BSc and/or MSc in ecology or a related field.
Familiarity with FISC Level 4 and CIEEM membership will be advantageous.
Full driving licence and personal transport are required.
