Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum plus additional benefits

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients growing construction team based in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of construction projects, ensuring cost control, value for money, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong experience in JCT contracts to work on a varied portfolio of projects within a well-established company.

Key Responsibilities

* Commercial management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account

* Administering and managing JCT contracts

* Preparing cost plans, budgets, valuations, and final accounts

* Managing variations, change control, and risk

* Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts

* Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams

* Supporting procurement and subcontractor management

* Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

* Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts (essential)

* Experience managing projects from inception to completion

* Excellent commercial awareness and cost control skills

* Strong communication and negotiation abilities

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred)
