Behaviour Mentor - SEMH School (Manchester)
Full Time | 8:30am - 3:45pm | Agency Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work full time in a specialist SEMH school in Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity for a proactive and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
The Role:
Supporting students with SEMH needs including (but not limited to) depression, trauma, anxiety, PTSD and challenging behaviour
Implementing behaviour and emotional regulation strategies to promote positive choices and prevent dysregulation
Building strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
Providing support both inside and outside the classroom
Actively engaging pupils who may be disengaged from learning
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual behaviour plans
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
Minimum 6 months UK-based experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals with SEMH needs
Proven experience managing and supporting challenging behaviour
Ability to remain calm, consistent and empathetic in high-pressure situations
Proactive, resilient and committed to making a positive impact
