Reinsurance Accountant

About the Role

Join a dynamic commercial financial control team within a global Insurance group. As Reinsurance Accountant, you'll be the key person for reinsurance queries, ensuring high-quality accounting and reporting while working in a supportive team environment that emphasizes mutual growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

Review new and existing reinsurance arrangements and administer contracts on FSRI
Ensure reinsurance premium payments are made in line with contractual terms
Manage recoveries collection including submission of collection notes to brokers/reinsurers
Liaise with underwriters, claims, and actuarial teams on potential and actual recoveries
Ensure all bordereaux are issued and settled within contractual terms
Report reinsurance movements correctly on a quarterly basis aligned to contractual terms
Monitor reinsurance bad debt and maintain data quality across systems
Ensure correct data transfer between underwriting, reinsurance, and financial systemsRequirements

Prior experience in insurance working in reinsurance accounting either from practice or industry
Ideally a qualified accountant
Understanding of different types of reinsurance structures
Knowledge of reinsurance working practices and terminology
Good knowledge of Excel
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pride in delivery of work with attention to detail
Knowledge of FSRI, experience with CODA or similar accounting systems.
