SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
Location: SE2, South East London
Start Date: January
Contract: Full-time, term time

A supportive secondary school in the SE2 area is seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from January.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them to access learning and achieve their potential.

The Role:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND across KS3 and KS4

Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

Assisting students in the classroom to stay engaged and access the curriculum

Working closely with teachers, the SENCo, and support staff

Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing

Supporting students both academically and socially

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience preferred)

Be patient, nurturing, and resilient

Have strong communication and teamwork skills

Be proactive and able to build positive relationships with students

Be committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners

Be available full time from January
