Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer ready to step into a leadership role? We're hiring a Lead Design Engineer to drive innovation, precision, and quality in bespoke machinery design. Based in Poole, this is a hybrid role with highly flexible working arrangements, giving you autonomy over how and where you work.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Lead design projects from concept to completion using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.

* Create and manage BOMs, costings, layout and detailed drawings, and production quotes.

* Drive Design for Manufacture and Value Engineering techniques to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.

* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions.

* Select third-party components and ensure compliance with hygiene, health & safety, and regulatory standards.

* Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

* Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/Degree or equivalent experience).

* Strong background in machine design, including hands-on mechanical calculations and problem-solving.

* Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and mechanical best practices.

* A proactive team player with strong communication and time management skills.
