A welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team from April 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher with a passion for inclusion to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive and community-focused school.

About the Role

As SENCo, you will:

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive teaching practices
• Identify pupils with additional needs and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
• Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP provision
• Track and monitor the progress of pupils with SEND
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals including educational psychologists and therapists
• Support staff through guidance, training, and best practice strategies
• Ensure the school meets statutory SEND responsibilities and maintains accurate records

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
• Previous experience supporting or coordinating SEND provision in a school
• National SENCo Award (NASENCo) or willingness to work towards it
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive, nurturing, and solution-focused approach
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
