SEN EYFS Teacher (ASD Specialist)

Are you a passionate and nurturing EYFS Teacher with experience delivering the UK curriculum to children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN EYFS Teacher to join our supportive and welcoming SEN school in Ashford, specialising in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
About the Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD. Working within small class sizes, you will create a structured, safe and stimulating environment that supports communication, social development, and emotional regulation.
You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and parents to ensure each child receives a personalised learning experience that promotes progress and independence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons in line with the UK EYFS curriculum
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Use ASD-friendly teaching strategies (e.g. visual supports, structured routines, sensory integration approaches)
Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress
Work closely with parents, carers and multi-disciplinary teams
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching the UK curriculum within EYFS
Experience working with children with ASD, ideally within an SEN setting
Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of autism-specific strategies
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service or be willing to get a new one. A new DBS costs £62 and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.
