Health And Safety Lead – Manufacturing - Lancaster
We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety professional to support the delivery of a robust safety strategy across a complex manufacturing environment. This role will support the Head of EHS and collaborate with teams across the business to ensure legal compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant UK H&S legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, 14001).
* Support and implement group-wide health and safety initiatives and strategy.
* Lead specific safety programs and act as the subject matter expert for selected risk areas.
* Liaise with external regulators and agencies (HSE, insurers, emergency services).
* Assist with investigations, audits, inspections, and implementation of corrective actions.
* Monitor and analyse safety performance data to support continuous improvement.
* Provide guidance on occupational health, risk assessment, and safe systems of work.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ.
* Certified member of a recognised H&S body (e.g., IOSH).
* Proven experience in a lead health and safety role, ideally in manufacturing.
* Strong working knowledge of UK H&S law and standards.
* Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
* Experience with systems such as PUWER, LOLER, LOTO, DSEAR is advantageous.
